Release date: 2026-02-02 21:00 | Malaysia Community News

After circling the globe and answering years of eager fan requests, Mandopop rock giants Mayday finally returned to Malaysia with their “Back to That Day” 25th Anniversary World Tour, performing at Bukit Jalil National Stadium for their first show of 2026 — and the final 5525 concert on Earth.

Spanning 24 cities and 139 shows worldwide, the Malaysia stop marked a major milestone of the tour. In front of 55,000 fans, Mayday took audiences on a musical time journey, transporting everyone back to the very day they first fell in love with the band. To accommodate concertgoers, the Bukit Jalil LRT station extended operating hours until 1 a.m., ensuring fans could enjoy the night without transportation worries.

The evening featured a special collaboration with opening guest Xiao Bing Chih, who performed “I Want to Quietly Live in Your Soul” and “Victory Life” before staying on as a mid-show guest at Mayday’s invitation. Together, they delivered a crowd-favorite live rendition of “Outsider,” reigniting memories of their beloved past performances.

Not satisfied with just one song, Ashin teased additional collaborations, mentioning  Xiao Bing Chih upcoming “Alive” concert at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on July 4 and suggesting they sing hits like “I’m Still in Love with You” and “Archer.” The announcement sent the stadium into screams of excitement. Xiao Bing Chih, both surprised and thrilled, admitted he always feels nervous performing with Mayday. Ashin joked, “He’s the fastest guest to run off stage after every performance,” drawing laughter from the crowd.

After a three-year absence, Malaysian fans welcomed Mayday with their signature passion, roaring cheers, and powerful sing-alongs. From high-energy tracks like “OAOA” and “Monkey King” to emotional favorites “Later, Us” and “Fool,” the band and audience sang together for over three unforgettable hours.

Monster shared, “I just heard your screams — amazing! You’re full of energy. Even after all this time away, we can still feel your love.”

Masa added, “5525 is finally here to meet you all — thank you for waiting.”

Stone reflected on their journey: “We’ve toured many places, but there was always one spot missing in Mayday’s heart — Malaysia. You’ve given us so many memories.”

Guan You also took time to explore the streets before the show, spotting fans everywhere, and expressed hopes of returning for more shows to spend even more time with Malaysian audiences.

As if time itself had paused, Mayday returned — and so did Ashin’s iconic pink suit. During the song-request segment, Ashin slipped back into the jacket, recalling that he had fallen twice during the F✦FOREVER Stellar City concerts while wearing the same outfit. Laughing, he said, “I’m not sure if it’s the jacket or me. Last time I collected kisses from Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, and Vic Chou — if tonight’s concert goes smoothly, I’d like one kiss from everyone here.”

With that, Ashin playfully asked all 55,000 fans for a kiss, bringing the night to a joyful climax.
