Malaysian TVB artiste Xair Pang is set to showcase a different side of her acting in Astro Originals' upcoming dark romantic comedy Lie To Love. Blending black comedy with thought-provoking social themes, the series offers a compelling exploration of lies, public opinion, and the complexities of human nature.
At the drama's recent press conference, the star-studded cast—including Daniel Fung, Joyce Chu, Thomas Kuok, Kim Tang, Joe Tso, Daryl Tan, Xair Pang, Jack Ng, Olio Chan and Judy Foo came together to share behind-the-scenes stories, memorable filming experiences, and the challenges of bringing their respective characters to life.

In the series, Xair plays Esther, an entertainer who appears sweet, innocent and harmless on the surface. Beneath her charming facade, however, lies a highly calculating and manipulative personality. Skilled at navigating public opinion and leveraging her image to gain trust, Esther strategically positions herself within complex relationships, making her one of the story's most pivotal characters.
Taking on her first-ever antagonist role, Xair described the experience as both refreshing and rewarding. She admitted that portraying a villain was something completely new for her, but welcomed the opportunity to step outside her comfort zone. Through Esther, she hopes audiences will discover a different side of her acting abilities and appreciate her growth as a performer.

Built around a unique blend of dark comedy and social satire, Lie To Love explores contemporary issues such as social media culture, online manipulation, and the darker side of human ambition. Driven by an intriguing "fake marriage meets RM100 million inheritance" premise, the series promises unexpected twists, emotional conflicts, and plenty of conversation-worthy moments.
Lie To Love premieres on 28 June, airing every Sunday at 9:30 PM on Astro AEC (Channel 306). The series will also be available simultaneously on Astro GO, On Demand, and sooka.
