Rax & Alan Deliver Heartfelt Message: “It’s Never Too Late to Dream – Just Dare to Chase It!”

As the overseas recruitment for "Midlife, Sing & Shine 4" continue to generate buzz, former Malaysian representatives from Season 3, Rax and Alan made a special appearance at MS Marvelous Studio a sharing session. The two artists opened up about their unforgettable competition journey and offered words of heartfelt encouragement to aspiring contestants.

When asked about the most memorable moment from “Midlife, Sing & Shine 3”, Rax recalled with emotion: “I never expected to stand on the TVB stage! Winning five lights in the very first round was a total surprise. The song I performed, Tong Fa Shun , also made quite an impression—many thought I was the original singer!” 

He added that the warm reception from Hong Kong audiences was deeply touching: “They treated us overseas contestants with so much respect. From an unknown contestant to someone with fans and even meet-and-greet sessions—it was more than just a singing competition. The biggest takeaway was feeling the genuine enthusiasm from the audience.”

As a former model, Alan was no stranger to being underestimated. “People often assumed I was just a face with no real talent,” he said. “But through the show, I proved otherwise. Judges like Brian Chow and Ruth Chen told me I had shown my friends and the world that I really can sing.” Since the competition, Alan has built a growing fanbase, even establishing his own fan club—an achievement he didn’t see coming.

Speaking about what motivated them to join the show, both Rax and Alan shared candid stories. “I actually signed up at the very last minute,” Rax admitted. “When I found out there was a Malaysian audition, I thought, why not? I didn’t have to fly all the way to Hong Kong, and honestly, I had nothing to lose.”

“In 2023, my mother was ill. I had planned to go to Hong Kong for the audition, but when I heard Malaysia was holding its own round, I told her. She encouraged me to go. I wanted to turn the impossible into possible—for her.”

When asked for tips on how to stand out during auditions, both offered practical insights.

Alan: “Don’t choose songs that are too technically difficult, especially if they might hurt your performance. Go with something stable and something you’re confident in.”

Rax: “During my audition, I picked a song that was comfortable for my voice. The goal was to showcase vocal control and consistency. Don’t go all-in right from the start—choose the song that fits you best.”

To close the session, both Rax and Alan shared sincere encouragement for everyone considering auditioning. Rax: “Don’t be afraid. Don’t overthink it. Opportunities like this don’t come often—who knows? You might be the next champion of ‘Midlife, Sing & Shine 4’!”

Alan: “The most important thing is to take that first step. Midlife is still the right time to chase your dreams. If you’ve tried, you’ve already won.”

During the event, Rax and Alan also addressed questions from attendees regarding the overseas recruitment for Midlife, Sing & Shine 4, encouraging everyone to sign up and take the leap.

At the sharing session, Rax delivered a stunning performance of Love Spark, captivating the audience with his exceptional vocals.

Alan followed with a heartfelt rendition of the ballad The Love You Want, which was also met with enthusiastic applause from the entire crowd.
