Hong Kong TVB actor Shaun Tam recently traveled to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he made a special appearance at the Malaysian audition of  Midlife, Sing &Shine!4 and held a fan meet-and-greet. The event drew a massive crowd, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Shaun performed two songs live, played games with fans, and charmed everyone with his friendly and down-to-earth personality. Speaking to the audience on stage, Shaun shared that while scrolling through his phone, he realized he’s been meeting his Malaysian fans almost every year. “Last year, I promised to bring a new drama for you all—who would've thought it actually came true!” he said with a smile. He went on to reveal that his new series, 《Heavenly Hand》, will premiere this Monday at 8:30 PM. The drama centers around a mahjong parlor owner who suddenly discovers he has a 20-year-old daughter—setting off a hilarious chain of events. “From next week on, you can call me Gau Gor ! Go ahead, try it now!”

The crowd responded enthusiastically, shouting “Gau Gor!” in unison and filling the venue with excitement. Shaun then performed “Always With Me,” an original song from the drama’s soundtrack, stepping off stage to interact closely with fans. He followed that up with a heartfelt rendition of the English classic Wonderful Tonight, showcasing his sincerity and vocal range.

But the biggest surprise of the night was yet to come.Later that evening, Shaun secretly attended the 8th Malaysia International Film Festival to present his father, legendary actor Tommy Tam, with the Lifetime Achievement Award—a heartwarming moment that moved the entire audience.

Unbeknownst to his parents, who were also in Kuala Lumpur for the event, Shaun had told them he would be in Singapore for a guest appearance. In reality, he had carefully planned the surprise. Just as Tommy began his acceptance speech on stage, Shaun emerged from backstage holding the award and a bouquet of flowers. The unexpected moment left Tommy stunned and deeply moved.

“I’m still shaking,” Shaun admitted afterward. “I’m really not good at lying.”

Tommy cvisibly emotional, replied, “I was there when you won Best Actor, and now you’re here for my award. We both owe it all to your mom!”
