The highly anticipated singing event drew more than 100 passionate midlife contestants who took to the stage to showcase their vocal talents. The atmosphere was electrifying, with waves of applause from the enthusiastic audience.
Beneath dazzling stage lights and a professionally set stage, contestants delivered powerful performances, each vying for a coveted spot to represent Malaysia in the Singapore-Malaysia Regional Selection Round of the show. This year’s judging panel featured a stellar lineup of music industry veterans: Matthew Ma, Jovi Theng, and Stephen Gan, who evaluated the performances with professionalism, fairness, and rigor to identify the most promising and captivating talents.
Adding to the star power of the event, fan-favorite alumni from Midlife, Sing & Shine! 3 — Rax Teh, Andy Lau, Alan Seow, and Catherine Ho — made a special return as mentors, cheering on the new batch of contestants. Each also graced the stage with moving performances of classic hits, delighting fans with a musical feast.
Andy Lau opened the show with emotional renditions of How Could You Let Me Be Hurt and Boundless Oceans, Vast Skies, instantly igniting the crowd.Alan Seow followed with Don’t Want to Be Happy Alone and Love Forecast, showing his versatility in music styles.Rax Teh, a fan favorite, delivered a powerhouse set of Love Sparks, Big Fish, and I Will Always Love You, bringing back the magic of his competition highlights.Catherine Ho closed the segment beautifully with heartfelt performances of Looking at the Wind and Clouds and Applause, leaving the audience deeply moved.
The undeniable climax of the audition was the appearance of guest star Shaun Tam, who performed With Me Always, the theme song from his new drama The Band Sparrow, followed by a soulful rendition of Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight. His engaging stage presence and vocal depth brought the audience to a frenzy. Shaun further hyped the crowd by interacting with fans through games and giveaways of exclusive merchandise, making the event even more memorable.
Midlife, Sing & Shine! 4 Malaysia audition concluded successfully at 7pm. More than just a singing competition, this event offered a stage for midlife individuals to chase their dreams and prove that age is not a limitation, but a testament to enduring passion and elegance.
